Together
with Via
Stabiana, it constitutes the cardo
maximus of the city and has the pavement consumed by the
passage of the carts. Along the street there is the House
of the Golden Cupids, of Nero’s epoch, one of the best
preserved houses, the House
of Cæcilius Jucundus, in which some tablets waxed had
been found in a box; they belonged to the file of a banker. On this
road there is even the Fullonica
of Stephanus, a laundry.
